VIDEO VIGNETTES FOR PBS

The WFREA program received a grant from the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) to develop a five-minute vignette about forest certification targeting consumers. In addition, a 30-second Public Service Announcement (PSA) will be developed as a "billboard" for the vignette. Once these are complete, they will be aired on the Wisconsin Public Television and Milwaukee Public Television networks; Wisconsin On-Demand, which is a Time Warner company; and Into the Outdoors, which is a WDNR show that airs on prime time. WFREA and the LEAF program at UW-Stevens Point have a strong working relationship. Previously, WFREA developed two vignettes, which have been included in the LEAF K-12 forestry curriculum. This new vignette will also be utilized by the LEAF Adjunct Faculty to enhance their knowledge about forest certification, as there are activities in the LEAF K-12 forestry curriculum that address the topic.
